The Fulbright Master’s and PhD Program is a scholarship program that funds graduate studies in the United States. This program is sponsored by the United States Department of State and covers a range of expenses including tuition, textbooks, airfare, living expenses, and health insurance. Additionally, USEFP (United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan) can assist with the visa process.
To be eligible for the Master’s degree program, candidates must have a four-year Bachelor’s degree or a combination of a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree totaling 16 years of formal education from an accredited university. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply, except for MBA and Public Policy/Administration applicants who require at least 2 years of work experience.
For the PhD degree program, eligible applicants must have a Master’s, M.Phil, or comparable degree (a minimum of 18 years of formal education) from an accredited university. It is highly desirable that candidates have work experience in teaching, research, or the public sector in Pakistan.
All academic disciplines are eligible for both the Master’s and PhD programs, except for clinical medicine. Applicants must take the Graduate Record Examination (GRE General), with a minimum score of 145 required on each section of the exam, and a higher score on the section most applicable to their field of study. Additionally, applicants must have a high level of fluency in spoken and written English, and must take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).
